If you are feeling weighed down by the burdens of life, perhaps you need a camping holiday filled with the fresh sea air of Pembrokeshire. The county is home to a lot of seaside locations, each with different perks that make them unique. Plus, there are 12 blue flag beaches dotted amid them which have been awarded the title for their fantastic measures regarding cleanliness, management and safety. In this blog, we explore where is the best spot for camping in Pembrokeshire by the beach.
Popular Beaches
You might be a lone visitor, in which case a bit of peace and quiet might be what you are looking for. Whilst you can visit many secluded and sometimes “secret” local beaches, they are not always accessible to anyone with accessibility difficulties, which will not be an option for some groups containing dogs and family members.
If you are seeking a lively, traditional beach atmosphere, or have any elderly people and children with your group, try Poppit, located in the north, or the southern Amroth for busier locations. These are both blue flag locations which are perfect for all the family. Check to see if dogs are allowed on these beaches during the time of your visit, as restrictions apply
through the summer months. Otherwise, you will all be guaranteed a fantastic visit.
The best spot for camping in Pembrokeshire by the beach
Porthselau beach by foot. On low tides in spring, you are able to walk to the neighbouring Whitesands beach from here, but if you are staying during another month, just take your car.
If you want to go further than the shallows, our campsite is located a two-minute walk away from the St Justinian coastal path, which takes you down to the new RNLI lifeboat station. Here, you can sail on a tour to the RSBP reserve, Ramsey Island, which is home to whales and dolphins between the months of May and September, and grey seals all year round.
Our facilities
After a day out at the beach, there is nothing like coming back to a large, luxurious bell tent which has been assembled for you. Thanks to our partnership with Nights Under Canvas, we can do all the hard work, so you can enjoy your camping holiday hassle-free. Visit our site for more information on how to book yours.
If something a bit different does not strike your fancy, you are always welcome to bring your own tent or caravan here instead. We understand that some comforts are sometimes more enjoyable than sleeping in an environment which is not familiar. Our prices only go up to £12 a day for one guest. It would be hard to pass up a great night’s sleep to the sound of coastal waves for such a fair price.
Whichever beaches you decide to visit during your stay, we hope that you will come home refreshed and satisfied with what coastal attractions Pembrokeshire has to offer. Give our friendly team a call today, or visit our website to book camping in Pembrokeshire by the beach.
